Take the leap: God is in the details

God's Plan

There was a quote on twitter that stated, “God show me how good it can get.” I recited that quote occasionally throughout the year ,and written it down in my journal. Don’t get me wrong, I was blessed throughout the year, but I was anticipating something to blow my mind. It was November and thought this year is almost over with “God must forgot about me this year, he will get me next year.”

As the year was ending, I switch my prayers to “God what is your plan, what it is you want me to do? ” I want to move according to your plan and not mine. It was hard for me to relinquish control and trust God fully. I will be the first to admit that I am the type of person “that want’s what I want.”

My Prayer

I was sitting in my car on my lunch break and I said “God I always wanted to live in Atlanta, but I am still here, what is you want me to do? I been here 5 years now. Here me out, being in my hometown I received so many blessings and connected with amazing people. But I was ready to go and step outside of my comfort zone.

As I was walking back to the building, I read my email from my apartment complex regarding renewing the lease. I said to myself “I am not renewing that lease.” If I renew that lease, I will be here another year. I prayed and asked God to speak to me like he does for others.  3 action steps I did as I was waiting to hear from God:

·      Prayed

·      Fasted

·      Tithe

·      Recited and Meditated on Isaiah 43: 19 “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth: shall ye not know it?  I will make a way even in the wilderness, rivers in the waste.

Church Service

December 22, 2024, I attended church and the topic was “He sent his word.”  The pastor begins preaching from Romans 8:28 about purpose, plan, and perseverance. Romans 8:28 is one of my favorite bible verses, and I was born on 8/28.  I believed I was born and created for a special purpose. Gems that Pastor Camel dropped during his sermon that I knew God was speaking through him:

·      God already got it in control

·      God will provide for you. You got to be willing to go where God said Go.

·      Don’t miss the window of opportunity. Everybody don’t escape twice.

·      Faith is all you need.

I knew I had to take the leap of faith and move after that sermon. Thank you, Pastor Camel.

January 15th : Approved

·      I got approved for the apartment in Atlanta

·      Signed a contract for my business

Pastoral 5th Anniversary:

Our pastor guest speaker for his 5th pastoral anniversary was from Atlanta Georgia. In the middle of his sermon he began singing “Lord do it for me” by Zacardi Cortez. That was the same song I was worshiping too for 2 weeks. You can’t tell me that is not God in the details. I was confident that I made the right decision and trusted that God will provide for me on my new journey.

When your vision becomes your reality

My mother was walking out of the U-Haul with my vision board in her hand, and the first thing I spotted was Atlanta. I created that vision board about 4 years ago.

·      Habakkuk 2:2 : “ And the lord answered me: Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he who reads  it may run.”

Sis! This post resonates deeply, especially as a mental health therapist. We are truly doing the Lord’s work every time a client walks through our doors. It’s so important to be obedient and surrender to God’s will, allowing Him to guide our steps in serving others with wisdom and compassion. But just as we are intentional in how we treat our clients, we must also be intentional in how we care for ourselves, staying in the Word, leaning on His strength, and trusting His plan. Romans 8 is such a powerful reminder that God is in control and working all things together for our good. Thank you for this beautiful encouragement!
